Rumble Box | |
English:
An original 3D fighting game
You are a blockman, trapped in a box. You look around you and you see several not-so-friendly looking blockmen approaching you. You swing your blockarm and hit one right in the head to see him fall apart. After knocking down several of these blockmen, you notice that the parts -of these enemies- escalate higher and higher, until you can climb out of the box. That is the basic principle of this game: fight and escape.
The game is very nice presented and the cell-shaded 3D graphics add a nice effect to the game. It is also very nice to see all the blocks remain in place so that the terrain has altered in a way where you will need to do some thinking to achieve your goal. The fighting moves are not so special, since they are in very few number, but the effect after performing one of them is quite nice to behold. The move where you grab an enemy and swing him around, knocking over other enemies, will soon become your favorite.
The game consists of two modes: Play Mode and Challenge Mode. The Challenge Mode gives you the opportunity to see how long you can survive in the `box`. The Play Mode is different. In my introduction, I gave away the purpose of the game. In order to advance to the next level, you must escape the box by defeating enemies and using their remains to climb to the top and eventually escape. In the end you will get to see your score and if you may take the advantage of going to a bonus stage. Ranking several combo's will earn you big scores and increase the chance of getting into a bonus level and it may earn you a nice spot on the high score list.
Even though the game is quite fun to play and very nice to behold, it gets repetitive after a while. Many more things could have been added and it might have been a game of commercial quality. Nevertheless, the game is well worth the download.
