A short one-room adventure - write an essay
You play as a student who has 24 hours to write an essay for school.
Controls:
left click: walk
double left click: interact
right click: look at
R: reset position
M: mute alarm
Ctrl+Q: quit
F5: save
F7: restore
F9: restart
The meters in the top left corner tell you how hungry, stressed and tired the main character is. If one of them fills up completely, the game will end.
You can reduce hunger by eating, stress can be reduced by watching tv or reading a book, and if you're tired, you can always have a nap. You can move the mouse cursor on these meters to see their exact value on the status line.
There is also a clock which tells you the time in the game. One second in realtime matches one minute in game time. Every ten seconds, your tiredness will increase by two and hunger by one. Every hour, your stress will increase by the number of tasks left multiplied by two. An alarm sound will play when any of the three meters is over 80/100. You can mute the alarm by pressing "M". Pressing "M" again will unmute it.
You can see the remaining tasks by moving the mouse cursor to the top right corner.
A todo list will appear. Tasks that you've already finished are crossed over.
When you get inventory items, they will appear to the bottom right corner of the screen.
You can't select or use them: interacting with hotspots and characters will automatically check if you have the required inventory item.
When 24 hours have passed and you haven't finished the essay, the game ends.
TIP:
Keep a close eye on the meters! For example watching television increases your tiredness by the amount of time that has passed (30 minutes -> +3) but also increases it by an additional +10.
