Janitor Dan the Spaceman | |
English:
Janitor Dan is a very pleasant mixture of an asteroids type of game (traveling between spaceships) and a platform game (while cleaning the spaceship)
Story:
Dan is a spaceman, a janitor, and a hardworking self-employed business man. His business has been booming lately as he has just scored a major contract with a rather large space mining outfit. Dan now has many space stations on his schedule that need regular cleaning. He loves his job, but it does come with its share of hazards, such as space pirates, hostile robotic bombs, and motion triggered intruder eradication systems.
Game Play:
Your mission is to clean up all the space stations (20 of them!)in this sector of the galaxy. You fly to the stations in a rocket ship armed with blaster cannons for protection from the marauding space pirates and frequent asteroid storms. Once on a station you will have to avoid robotic bombs and other dangers as you attempt to do the job you were hired to do. The tools of your trade are vacuum cleaners, toilet plungers, squeegees, and alien mouse traps. You must also collect empty soda cans and other litter. Once a station has been cleared you can exit it and fly to another one.
Janitor Dan is a very fun game to play but it would not be as enjoyable unless you look at all the Game Info menus and the Options menu. The is a tremendous amount of helpful information in these menus. For example there is a training mode which can be turned off or on in the options menu. In the game info menus you will also find information about the dangers, tools of your trade and what all the icons mean. You can even play as 1 of 3 cool space janitors. The game has very good music and sound effects. The screen resolution is fixed at 800x600 pixels. The author is currently working on additional Bonus space stations which will soon be available.
The installer is Multilingual (English, French, Deutsch, Japaneese and Italian).
Keyboard Controls (while going from space ship to space ship):
Arrow Keys = Rotate and Thrust
Ctrl = Fire
Esc = Pause
F1 = Screen Shot
Controls (while inside of space ship):

If you think that you might like this type of game, at 2.2 MB it is a very worthy download even on a dialup connection.
